How does it work?

The small punctures made during needling prompt a repair process within the skin. This can support remodelling, which may improve the appearance and texture of some scars over time.

How is it different from scar camouflage?

Needling focuses on remodelling rather than adding skin-coloured pigment. If colour contrast is your main concern, scar camouflage may also be worth discussing. The right option depends on the skin and scar being assessed.

What about recovery and risks?

Redness, sensitivity and swelling can occur after needling. There are also risks such as infection and changes in pigmentation. Ask which risks apply to you, how long recovery may take and what aftercare to follow.

Tell the practitioner about relevant skin conditions, medicines and previous treatments before deciding to proceed.

No. Suitability depends on your skin, medical history and the area to be treated. A consultation is an opportunity to raise these points and ask whether treatment is appropriate.

How quickly will I see a change?

Skin remodelling takes time, and the response varies. You should not expect an instant or guaranteed result. Ask about likely timescales and whether a course of appointments may be appropriate.

Is this the same as radiofrequency microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling is a form of microneedling that also delivers heat. This website describes medical needling; it does not claim that Skin Blend uses a radiofrequency device.

How much does it cost?
